Raiding
![]() Signing Up for Raids Any guildie is allowed to sign up for a run as long as you are the appropriate level, rank, and your gear is sufficient enough to be able to perform well in raids. If you are a newer 80, it is recommended that replace your greens with blues (reputation gear, heroic’s, etc.) before raiding. Epic’s are obviously preferred. If you have questions about your gear for your class and spec feel free to ask and the more experienced players are happy to help. Once you sign up for a run, you are expected to sign in 15 minutes prior to the raid start time. Real life happens and if you are unable to participate in the run, please cancel your sign up or talk to the raid leader to let people know you won’t be there. If the raid leader is unavailable, you can talk to an officer or post on the MIA section of the forums. Sometimes you may want to sign up for a run but you are cutting it close for a start time. Maybe you get out of work around that time and you might be five minutes late. If that is a case, please post on the MIA forums noting what time you will be available. If you know far enough in advance please inform the raid leader or any officers that you will be late. Please note: When you sign up for a raid you are agreeing to these guidelines. If you have a dispute with these guidelines, please take it up in the forums or by sending a private message to an officer or the guild master. Invite Order Invites are started 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of a run. If a guildie signed up but is not online prior to start time, that guildie may be replaced by another guildie who is online. An officer or a designated raid leader will start the invites and begin with the number of tanks and healers recommended for the run. Once the healer and tank spots are filled, then dps will fill in the remaining holes. Getting Started On Time A raid involves 25 guildies who are all committing to be in a particular spot at a particular time to achieve a common goal. For this reason, it is REQUIRED that all Omega member intending to raid be ready with all consumables (pots, food, elixirs, etc.) on time. By logging in 15 minutes prior to a run and having your consumables ready, it will help the raid leader organize the run and be on time. This is done to be courteous of the other 24 people who are standing around waiting for the run to start. While someone is racing around for a last minute respec’s and auction house visits, 24 other people are standing at the meeting stone doing nothing and waiting for the raid to start. You can’t avoid this all of the time, but the more we try the easier it will be to start on time. Ventrilo ... also known as “vent.” This program is required for all guildies who want to participate in a raid. It is one of the few “requirements” that the guild has. It is a program that allows guildies to talk to each other instead of typing out every word. Even if you do not have a working microphone, you are required to log in so you can listen to what is being said. This allows the raid leader to explain boss fights and other players to call out when they are in trouble. To download Vent, visit www.ventrilo.com and click the download button in the menu on the left. Then select the appropriate program and follow the instructions on the site. Once Vent is installed you can obtain the server information from the guild information tab in game. This information is needed to connect to the server. When you open vent you will see a space for username, server and bindings. Click on the -> to the right of the space for server and you will see the section to set up your server information with the information above. If you need help setting up vent, ask an officer or any guildie that you are comfortable asking for help. We often talk and joke around in vent, but please try to keep the vent channel clear for boss fights. One person should be designated to call out events during a boss fight. Otherwise the channel needs to be clear for emergency calls for help. Required Addons Another page will go into more detail about addons but the following are required for raids: A threat meter (either Omen or KLHThreatMeter) Deadly Boss Mods There are many class specific addons that can be helpful. Talk to others in your class for suggestions but at a minimum it’s requested that you have these two in your arsenal. One site that has both these addons is www.curse.com. Other sites are listed on the addons page along with instructions for how to install addons. Marking Items The raid leader will mark the run and may designate a raid assistant to help. The following are standard marks used by the guild:
Grievances If you have a grievance or concern there are several options: 1. Post questions and suggestions in the forums. The guild often has great discussions to work out problems. 2. Send a private message to the guild master or an officer. The GM and Officers take these messages seriously and your input is important. It is always okay to whisper an officer or the GM in game. However, please keep in mind that they log in to have fun too. Sometimes it is more effective to send a private message through the website than interrupting game play for an officer. This allows the officer to give your thoughts his or her full attention rather than be distracted by the mob he or she is currently killing. But if it is a quick question or something that you are really concerned about, don’t be afraid to whisper an officer either. Omega Order Loot Criteria Omega Order Loot Council Criteria 1. Does the Candidate Meet the necessary requirement? ( Member/Raider depending on loot) 2. Performance and Attendance in the Raid 3. Loot Frequency ( how many pieces of 25 man loot so far, when was last loot) 4. Overview of candidates gear, how its most beneficial to raid, who needs it the most, and role within raid. 5. The Item wish list ( is this item on their most wanted pieces) With these factors being used to decide who the loot with go to every time we can make sure we have a standardized process that everyone can understand, while still keeping true to our belief in the importance of Loot council. We encourage you all to make sure to keep your lists updated and to not roll on every item you see, and to discuss with other classes on loot table about their needs wants so we can better work together. The belief behind loot council is that it rewards those who show the dedication to raiding, and to the guild itself. These are the factors we will exclusively use to loot during our heroic 25 man raids. We try to follow this process most of the time, although as we gear up more and more, we will occassionally give loot to lower ranks if noone else needs it, but this is our procedure for upcoming instances as well. We try to use this formula to equip our raiders with the gear necessary for us to continue to progress through future evolutions. |
